City Attorney

Pursuant to Show Low City Code Sec. 2.15.020,
The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and works at the direction of the City Council.
The City Attorney acts as chief legal counsel to the City Council, City Manager, and various City departments and staff. In addition, the City Attorney reviews and approves proposed City ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents. The City Attorney oversees property acquisition needed for public improvements, prepares legal opinions for City Council and other City staff. The City Attorney oversees the litigation involving the City and prosecutes violations of the Show Low City Code.

Complete the Notice of Claim Form and hand-deliver it to City Hall.
Does the city attorney represent individual citizens who live in the city?
No. In accordance with Show Low City Code Sec. 2.15.020 (a), the City Attorney shall act as the legal counselor and advisor of the council, commissions, and other city officials.
