Alarm Permit
Annually, the Show Low Police Department reports over 750 alarm calls, the majority of these calls are determined to be false alarms. Time spent responding to false alarms prevents public safety resources from responding to true emergencies. Our department is dedicated to continuously work with the alarm industry and users to reduce the number of false alarms.

Alarm System Permit Information
Article 7.25.010 of the City of Show Low Municipal Code regulates the operations of alarm systems within the city limits of Show Low. This Ordnance states that "Every alarm user shall obtain an alarm users permit from the Show Low Police Department for each separate emergency alarm system". Automatic dialers programmed to directly notify the department are also regulated by this ordnance and are prohibited.
All alarm systems within the city limits must be permitted through the Show Low Police Department annually. The alarm users is ultimately responsible for notifying the department of the installation of an alarm system, changes of address, emergency contacts, cancelled service and billing information. Alarm permits are not transferred to new owner when property is sold. Show Low Police Department will only respond to permitted alarms.
Alarm users will be charged for false alarms. If you have defective equipment and need to have it repaired, please contact your service provider. Ensure your employees know how to property use the alarm system and keep your security system running smoothly.
Any emergency alarm system which has twenty (20) or more false alarms within a permit year shall be subject to permit revocation pursuant to Section 7.25.060(f).
Annual alarm is effective January 1 through December 31.

5-9 False Alarms = $50.00 Each Alarm
10-14 False Alarms = $100.00 Each Alarm
Above 15 False Alarms = $200.00 Each Alarm
