Smart Start Program

About the Program

The Start Smart Sports Development Program is a proven instructional program that prepares children ages 3-5 (pickleball is ages 8-10) for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Parents work together with their children in a supportive environment to learn all of the basic skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, spiking and batting. A parent or teammate must participate in program.

In this program, children will learn the basic motor skills necessary to play organized sports. The program will focus on teaching children and their parent or teammate skills in:

  • Batting

  • Catching

  • Dribbling or ball handling

  • Passing

  • Running

  • Shooting

  • Throwing

Class Details - Dates to be determined

  • January- Hockey, Register in December

  • March- Baseball, Register in February

  • May- Soccer, Register in April

  • July- Pickleball, Register in June

  • September- Volleyball, Register in August

  • November- Basketball, Register in October

  • Mondays 5:30pm to 6:30pm

  • Minimum of 8 child/parent teams for class to run

  • Register early to ensure class is not cancelled
