Public Hearing Regarding Use of CDBG Funds

City of Show Low

PUBLIC HEARING

Regarding Use of CDBG Funds

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the regular City Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 181 N. 9th Street, Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona to discuss potential projects for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) State Special Account funds.

The City of Show Low is expected to receive approximately $500,000 in FFY 2021 federal CDBG funds from the Arizona Department of Housing State Special Account.    CDBG funds must be used to benefit low-income persons and areas, alleviate slum and blight, or address an urgent community need.

Based on citizen input as well as local and state planning objectives, several potential projects have been selected to be forwarded to the State of Arizona with a request for funding.   It is expected the City Council will select the final project following this hearing and adopt any applicable resolutions.  The potential CDBG projects are named and described as follows:

  1. ADA restrooms at Show Low City Park, 1100 N. Deuce of Clubs.
  2. ADA sidewalk on north side of Hall Street between 9th Street and 8th Street and the east side of 8th Street between Hall and Deuce of Clubs.
  3. ADA sidewalk on east side of 9th Place between Deuce of Clubs and Frontier Park.
