[ARCHIVED] Show Low fireworks canceled; other July 4th events will proceed.

SHOW LOW, Ariz. (July 2, 2018) – Due to extreme fire danger, the fireworks display at Show Low’s annual FreedomFest celebration on Wednesday, July 4, is canceled. Everyone is invited to enjoy the other city-sponsored July 4th events, including the parade along the Deuce of Clubs beginning at 9 a.m., the wet zone with activities for all ages at Frontier Fields (600 N. 9th Place) immediately following the parade, and the daylong FreedomFest celebration at the Show Low High School football complex (500 W. Old Linden Road) beginning at 3 p.m. FreedomFest features food vendors and a Fun Zone with rides, games and activities. The price of unlimited Fun Zone ride wristbands has been reduced to $4 each. Participants can enjoy live musical performances beginning at 3 p.m., with Fools Hollow Band, 415Edward, Arizona Blacktop and headliner Sir Harrison Band performing from 7:30 to 9:30. At 7 p.m., the Show Low High School Choir will perform patriotic songs to accompany the flag-raising ceremony.

The city is currently under Stage 3 fire restrictions, which prohibits the sale and use of consumer-grade fireworks. Help keep the community and forests safe by following all fire restrictions.
