[ARCHIVED] Get Set for a Harry Potter Fan Fest!

Show Low Public Library hosts two special “Fantastic Beasts” events

SHOW LOW, Ariz. (January 5, 2018) – Fans of Harry Potter will not want to miss two exciting Harry Potter events based on J.K. Rowling’s best-selling novel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, at Show Low Public Library, 181 N. 9th Street. The first is a showing of the film adaptation of the book (released in 2016 and rated PG-13) on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 3:30 p.m. Free popcorn will be served during this matinee performance.

Two days later on Thursday, Feb. 1, from 6:15 to 8 p.m., the enchantment continues when kids 7 to 17 years old can create their own fantastic beast. Their creations will be displayed in the library and judged by a panel of community members, with prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Other delights include wizard treats, including homemade butterbeer and candy wands, a trivia game (with packets available to take home) and a new, revised edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them from the Hogwarts Library collection. Participants are encouraged to dress up Harry Potter-style in wizard fashion or other merchandise. Registration for the Feb. 1 event is required by signing up at the library’s circulation desk between Jan. 8 and 30, while space is available. The session is limited to 40 participants.
