[ARCHIVED] Notice of US60 work schedule from Dec. 13 through Dec. 29

Regarding the Arizona Department of Transportation’s project at and near the intersection of US60 (Deuce of Clubs) and SR77, city staff has been notified that paving is expected to be completed by Friday, Dec. 15. Then on Monday, Dec. 18, striping crews are scheduled to begin obliteration and temporary striping in the intersection. Striping crews will concentrate their work at the intersection and then move to the rest of the project (east to 40th Street).

On Tuesday, Dec. 19, electrical crews and ADOT’s traffic signals team are scheduled to convert the signal to the final designed intent. Please note this work will interrupt traffic flow at the intersection and will create delays. This portion of the project will also require crews to place temporary pavement markings during periods when ambient temperatures are below 50°F. The weather forecast indicates that, next week, daytime highs will be in the low to mid-50s. ADOT’s contractor anticipates completing temporary pavement markings by Thursday, Dec. 21.

Work crews will return the week after Christmas for minor touch-ups, followed by a winter shutdown no later than Friday, Dec. 29.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, traffic will be able to move through the project with no restrictions for the holidays and through the rest of the winter season.
