Free event includes games, contests, prizes, refreshments
SHOW LOW, Ariz. (September 26, 2017) – Show Low Public Library will host a family-friendly carnival on Friday, Oct. 27, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wear a favorite Halloween costume to this free event, which is open to all ages and includes games (a witch’s hat ring toss, bean bag pumpkin toss, bobbing for ducks and pumpkin bowling — play all four games for a special prize!), a cake walk with delicious rewards, prizes and refreshments.
There will be a pumpkin-carving contest for adults. To participate, carve a pumpkin at home and then either bring the carved pumpkin to the library for a photo shoot or bring a photo of the carved pumpkin to the library. Staff will accept pictures of the entries between Monday, Oct. 2, and 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, before the carnival begins. Winners will be announced later in the evening.
Or, participants may bring their own mini pumpkin to decorate during the carnival, with supplies provided by the library at the Frankenstein craft booth. These decorated pumpkins will not be part of the pumpkin-carving contest.
A costume parade starts at 7:30, followed by an announcement of the winners of the adult pumpkin-carving contest and a mini dance party until 8 p.m. At the end of the evening, every child up to age 12 will be treated to a goodie bag.
Add Oct. 27 to the calendar today for a howling good time! For more information, go to www.showlowaz.gov/library or call (928) 532-4070.
