[ARCHIVED] 4th Annual Community Fast Happening Now

Donations accepted to help those in need during the holidays

SHOW LOW, Ariz. (November 15, 2016) – The Show Low City Council proclaimed the week of Nov. 13 through 19 as the fourth annual “Community Fast of Compassion Week for Those in Need,” a time set aside to ask everyone to fast one or two meals and donate the cost of the meals—or more—to help our less-fortunate friends and neighbors during the holidays. Donations will be accepted into December at Show Low City Hall, 180 N. 9th Street, and at four local banks—National Bank of Arizona, Chase Bank, Washington Federal and Arizona Central Credit Union—with 100% of the proceeds given to community organizations for distribution. A Community Fast celebration, free and open to the public, will be held Sunday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m. at the Show Low School District auditorium, 500 W. Old Linden Road. Participating organizations will share musical numbers and representatives of the various groups that received donations from last year’s fast will share inspirational stories and accounts of how those monies were used to benefit recipients. The Show Low City Council thanks everyone for their generous contributions.
