SHOW LOW, Ariz. (August 3, 2016) – Learn basic BMX racing skills—gates, first straight, jumps, turns and rhythms—at the City of Show Low’s BMX fall clinics (introductory and individual skills training) held at the Show Low BMX track at Nikolaus Homestead Park, 1001 E. Mills, beginning Aug. 30. Open to all ages, the schedule of courses is as follows:
- Introductory clinic 1 (The Basics) on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (Aug. 30, Sept. 13, Sept. 27 and Oct. 11)
- Introductory clinic 2 (Getting the Hang of It) on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (Sept. 6, Sept. 20, Oct. 4 and Oct. 18.
- Individual skill clinics on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. which include Gates on Sept. 1, Pumping on Sept. 8, “Manualing” on Sept.15, Jumping on Sept. 22, Turns on Sept. 29, Pack Skills on Oct. 6, Basic Training for BMX on Oct.13 and Using the Track for Training (a class to put all that you learned together) on Oct. 20.
Participants can register for one or all ten clinics. Cost per participant is $10 per clinic or $80 for ten. Loaner bikes and helmets are available.
