Bike the Bluff (bicycle race) Event traffic advisory June 19, 2021 Show Low, Ariz. -- The 13th Annual Bike the Bluff will be held June 19, 2021, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The course begins on Thornton Drive near Empire SW on E Thornton, heads eastward to SR 77, enters the City on Deuce of Clubs, and proceeds 58 miles on SR 260, Paper Mill and returns via SR 77. All participants are instructed to ride safely, and single file.

The course begins on Thornton Drive near Empire SW on E Thornton, heads eastward to SR 77, enters the City on Deuce of Clubs, and proceeds 58 miles on SR 260, Paper Mill and returns via SR 77. All participants are instructed to ride safely, and single file.
Event-related Road restrictions and closures
June 19 – E. Thornton closure (between N 16th and SR 77)
E Thornton Drive closed between N 16th and SR 77 at 6:00 a.m. June 19 and continuing through 3:00 p.m.
June 19 Temporary Event-related road closures
7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Intermittent, temporary closures/delays along Deuce of Clubs, SR 260, and SR 77
June 19 at 3:00 p.m. event concludes and E. Thornton between N 16th and SR 77 re-opens.

Area residents are encouraged to plan travel-related activities before or after the temporary road delays. City of Show Low Police officers and Fire District personnel will be available throughout the area to assist with any emergency needs or service requests. Access to the Medical Center is always maintained.
The Bike the Bluff event is a tremendous economic generator for the community. In 2019 the event generated close to $100K in direct spending from 300 participants. The City and event thank area residents for their patience.
