Code of Conduct
Parks & Recreation Code
The following code of conduct has been adopted by the city sports program. These rules of conduct will be strictly enforced during the playing season and/or tournament. It is the manager’s responsibility to ensure all players know and adhere to these rules.
Rules
Physically Harm or Threats
No player shall at any time lay a hand upon, or strike or threaten an official. Officials are required to immediately suspend player from further play and report such player to the league coordinator within 72 hours. Such player shall remain suspended until the case has been considered by the league advisory board.
No player shall be guilty of objectionable demonstration of dissent at an official’s decision. Only 1 representative of the team, either the manager or coach, shall be allowed to have any verbal contact with the official.
No player shall refuse to abide by the official decision. Officials are required to immediately suspend player from further play and report such player to the league coordinator or league official within 72 hours. Such player shall remain suspended until the case has been considered.
Unnecessarily Rough Tactics
No player shall be guilty of using unnecessarily rough tactics during the game against the body or person of an opposing player. Officials are required to immediately suspend player from further play and report such player to the league coordinator within 72 hours.
No player shall be guilty of physical attack as an aggressor upon any player, official, or spectator. Officials are required to immediately suspend player from further play and report such player to the league coordinator or league official within 72 hours. Player shall remain suspended until the case has been considered.
No player shall be guilty of abusive, verbal attack upon any player, official, or spectator. Officials are required to immediately suspend the player from further play and report such player to the league coordinator or league official within 72 hours. Player shall remain suspended until the case has been considered.
No team shall allow its players and/or spectators to use alcoholic beverages or drugs before, during or after any game.
No player shall smoke, drink, or use profanity in any gymnasium used for the program or play under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Any player who, in the opinion of the game umpire or official, appears intoxicated shall be ejected from the game.
Any player being placed on probation and reported violating the code of conduct will be given a minimum penalty of suspension from 1 league game or a maximum penalty of suspension for life.
Game Injection Policies
Any player and/or spectator ejected from a game must leave the team bench, dugout or bleachers (out of sight and out of sound) immediately. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the game. The player will be suspended for their next league game, if forfeiture occurs.
Suspension Policy
Players suspended from league play cannot participate as a player, coach, or spectator.

The league coordinator and/or advisory board has the prerogative of modifying any code and/or penalty when deemed appropriate.

Additional Rules
- All city league participants are governed by all the stated rules. These rules cover conduct before, during, and after scheduled activities.
- Participants may be held liable for damages caused by negligence.
- Teams are responsible for the conduct and actions of their spectators. Failure to attempt to control disruptive spectators may result in forfeiture of the game to the opposing team.
- Teams or individuals found misusing school or park facilities will be suspended from participation in any City of Show Low Recreation Services sports program for at least 1 year. In addition, teams or individuals will be held liable for any facilities damages due to misuse.
