During your online visit, it is my hope as Chief that
you are able to get a sense of the excellent professionalism and dedication
exhibited by our staff on a daily basis. We are committed to providing a
safe and friendly environment for everyone who lives in or visits our
community.
Here in the City of Show Low, we practice a unique
blend of “community-oriented” policing mixed with “tourism-oriented”
policing. What does that mean? It means that we regularly partner with
members of our community to solve problems and improve the quality of life
for our citizens. It also means that we recognize that a large part of our
“community” consists of people who are not year-round residents in the White
Mountains. I believe we must pay special attention to the needs of those who
come to the mountains in the summer to escape the heat and those who come
here in the winter to enjoy the snow and other amenities. Creating a safe
and enjoyable vacation experience for everyone is the challenge inherent in
our “tourism-oriented” policing. Hopefully you will agree that we are
successful in this area and will return to our community year after year to
appreciate the beauty of the White Mountains and the City of Show Low.
