First Overdue Notice is mailed by Library
14 days past due
Second overdue notice is mailed by Library
21 days past due
Final notice is mailed by Library
45 days past due
Bill for lost materials is mailed by Library
60 days past due
Account is forwarded to a collection agency if your account balance is $25 or more
A non-refundable $10.00 service charge is added to your account.
Collection agency contacts you to request the return of the overdue materials and payment of all outstanding charges.
Over the next 120 days multiple attempts will be made by the collection agency to secure the return of the overdue materials and payment of all outstanding charges.
If you do not return overdue materials, and complete or establish a payment plan, your account will proceed to the next stage
The collection agency reports your overdue account to a national credit bureau which may affect your credit rating for up to seven years.
